The leadership teams were unanimous! Keeping up with regulations, especially those that have an impact on the ability for health care organizations to effectively and efficiently exchange patient data to support treatment and continuity of care remains the number one priority of Wisconsin Epic organizations. See below for details of the program, links to session documents and notes and check out the WIEUG calendar and registration form to participate in these important initiatives!
WHY DOES THIS MATTER?
State and federal regulations that impact interoperability are an ever morphing consideration for health care organizations are required not only to identify, but also ensure adherence prior to specific attestation dates. This can lead to confusion, missed dates and a spectrum of inconsistent interpretations across a region. Given the impact that different interpretations can have on the quantity and quality of data exchange, it is beneficial to have a collaborative view of the regulatory environment that we all have to answer to. The goal of this strategic pillar is to have all organizations aligned and live on solutions that meet regulations by key dates as defined by state, federal and other deadlines, while still ensuring that the region is not unintentionally blocking information from being exchanged due to Epic build decisions.
