Kristin Ray, BSN, RN, Informatics and Training Manager, Jennifer Aning, BSN, RN, Senior Clinical Informatics Analyst, Kathleen Brandow, BSN, Director Clinical Informatics, and Nikki Helle, RN, Senior Analyst will present on the challenges and opportunities to improve nursing documentation for better care and more efficient use of the nursing team’s time. While a primary responsibility of nursing is compassionate, knowledgeable, and effective delivery of care, today’s nurse is challenged with managing much more than in the past. The benefits of electronic nursing documentation are widely known, but the documentation process can also have a huge impact on a nurse’s time, clinical workflow, and the ability to deliver the best possible care to the patient. During this session, Kristin, Jennifer and Kathleen will provide an overview of the challenges organizations face with EHR nursing documentation, what has been implemented to streamline and improve their processes, and examples of the impact these improvements can have on nursing staff and ultimately, patient care.
From Logic Stream:
We hope you have been able to implement some of the tips that were shared. Much of this work was done with help from the LogicStream Health Clinical Process Improvement Solution. Health systems across the country are using the software to improve flowsheet documentation, manage order set content, eliminate unnecessary lab testing, and reduce high-cost medications.
The company also developed The Drug Diversion App and The Drug Shortage App from LogicStream Health™. These apps streamline the manual processes of identifying and managing drug shortages and incidents of drug diversion and are part of the Pharmacy Suite of products that also includes Formulary Variance.
