WIEUG / IL-RUG: Rev Cycle / PBX / Payer Platform Focus Team - OLEA / ThedaCare Presentation
Thursday, September 24, 2026 11:00 AM - 11:45 AM
Virtual Session

Want to see a unique opportunity to utilize technology to create efficiencies in your registration and payment collection processes? Patient arrival and check-in has become a strategic operational challenge for most health systems. This is driven by heavy and uneven patient flow, persistent front-desk staffing turnover, and rising patient expectations around self-service technology. This session grounds that challenge in industry data then walks through the range of approaches organizations are using to address it. They range from staffed-desk and hybrid models to mobile/portal-first check-in and self-service kiosks, along with the real trade-offs and adoption pitfalls of each.

We'll close with a customer deep dive: ThedaCare's own concierge check-in model, presented in their own words, including what's worked, what they'd do differently, and lessons for other Epic organizations evaluating a similar approach. This is intended as an industry and thought-leadership session. Our goal is to leave attendees with a framework for evaluating their own options.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:
1. Identify the specific problem(s) their organization is trying to solve (staffing, patient flow, throughput, or collections) before evaluating any solution.
2. Weigh the trade-offs across different patient check-in models and technologies to determine the right fit for their environment
3. Anticipate and plan for the adoption challenges — change management, staffing, and patient perception — that determine whether the rollout actually succeeds.

WIEUG / WI VR / Epic: Death Data Submission Requirements Discussion
Wednesday, September 30, 2026 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Virtual Session

This session is meant to cover the death data submission workflow overview as demoed by the WI VR team for us to be able to share feedback and recommendations to the process and system configuration.  The scope is for the medical examiner portion only.  We have highlighted that an item particularly in scope is to enable a future design that would allow for all information needed by the state (including provider signature) to be collected in Epic, so that there is no need for an additional sign on into the state system. Although this may not be live day one, it is a long term goal that we will ensure we discuss as well.
