The main objective of this session is to align on how 42 CFR part 2 regulations impact the transparency of SUDs information for internal providers.

Here’s a high-level agenda that I am hoping we will cover:

• Introductions of main players (the VA team and Epic lead)
• A review of our “journey so far”
  • the creation of the standardized issue escalation workflow
  • optimizing mapping of the VA documents available
• A discussion on current state
  • what’s going well?
  • where are there challenges?
  • what do your providers think? 
• Introducing the VA Clinician’s survey (we will all have a chance to review, and our expected action item is that participants will enable the right providers and end-users at your organization to complete the survey to support our ongoing optimization discussions).  I feel that the right participants for the survey are clinicians that see VA patients and the IT staff that are pulled in for VA / Epic interop issues.   
• The Veterans Interoperability Pledge and implementing the APIs (next session?)

Agenda:

1. Carryover:  discuss the historic immunization management workflow
   1. Do you enable Epic to interface historic immunizations or not?
   2. What are the challenges with the workflow
   3. Does the interface cause more duplications?
2. Carryover:  let’s discuss the state of development for the QAN to differentiate between NDC codes that are immunization related from NDC codes that are not for immunizations to reduce the number of errors resulting from non-immunization NDC codes being sent to WIR.
3. Carryover: the alternative access reminder
   1. Epic / WIR reports – is there a way to improve reports in WIR or Epic to have one version more similar to the view provided by the alternative access?  What would that look like and what is most beneficial?
4. New:  Aligning your interface to the current HL7 2.5.1 release 1.5 standard
5. New:  Meeting cadence – the member surveys highlighted this as a group that *may* benefit from meeting more often and I wanted to make sure that you all have an opportunity to weigh in.  Is quarterly working? Do we need to move to bi-monthly? 

This session will be a different organization’s deep dive exploration of how they have optimized ACP.  Denise from Emplify will be sharing what they have done to improve and standardize ACP across their instance of Epic.  The goal of this presentation is to enable organizations to have another perspective on how ACP can be documented, activated and deactivated.
